Investor dry run: rehearse the questions before the meeting

A timed session with questions investors actually ask, from market and traction to the round and AI-built code. Answer out loud, reveal what they are really asking and rate yourself. The score shows where to practise.

You get 8 questions from a bank of 35, 90 seconds each. Answer out loud or in the notes box, then reveal what the investor is really asking and rate yourself. Pick a focus or take the mixed session.

What questions do investors ask in a first meeting?

Why now, who exactly is the customer, show me retention, who is paying, why you, how much and why, and what you will prove with the money. The bank covers 35 of them in six categories.

How should you answer investor questions?

In two sentences: the number, then the reason. Hesitation reads as a gap; a specific number with a caveat reads as command of the business. If you do not know, say what you would do to find out.

What are investors really asking?

Most questions test something else. “Show me retention” tests whether you know what value looks like; “what if this fails” tests resilience without theatre. Each reveal explains the question behind the question.

How to use the dry run

Run it with a co-founder reading the questions, rate honestly and repeat the weakest category until the answers are short. Then book the first meeting.
