Question 1
What is your monthly revenue?

Should you raise venture capital at all?

Only if the market rewards speed and the capital buys growth you cannot fund from revenue. Venture money comes with an expectation of a venture-scale outcome; a good business that grows at 30 percent a year may be better off bootstrapped or grant-funded.

When does an accelerator make sense?

For first-time founders without a network who need structure and a first check. Compare the standard deal, often 5 to 10 percent for $100k to $500k, with what the same equity would buy from angels, and talk to alumni before applying.

What counts as non-dilutive funding?

Grants, innovation agency programs, tax credits, revenue-based financing and customer prepayments. Slow to obtain and often tied to reporting, but you keep ownership. Best for deep tech, hardware, climate and health.

Can you combine paths?

Most companies do: a grant plus angels, an accelerator followed by seed, or bootstrapping until the metrics justify a round. The quiz picks the primary path for the next 18 months.

Questions founders ask

How long does fundraising take?

Three to six months of founder time from first email to money in the bank. Start with at least six months of runway.

What do accelerators typically take?

Terms change; most well-known programs take between 5 and 10 percent for a six-figure check. Check the current deal on the program’s site.
